Beginning with a groundbreaking entry into the Chinese grain industry in 1979, Continental
Grain Company has had an active presence in China for over three decades. Today,
through ContiAsia, the Company participates in a wide range of businesses in China,
mainly involving feed milling, animal husbandry, and poultry production and processing.
As a large agribusiness presence in China, ContiAsia includes over 30 wholly
owned and joint venture companies functioning as four separate
business units: Continental Capital, ContiFeed Group, Conti Chia Tai International, and Hong Wai Foods.
As part of its on-going business development efforts, Continental Capital participates with
Arlon Group in making strategic investments in emerging Asia agribusiness firms
and plays an active role with management to support the growth and development of
those businesses.
